Kombi style + One Fine Day

What bride doesn’t want to arrive on her wedding day in style? We love the fun and quirky nature of throwing your bridal party in the back of an old school Kombi and impressing your guests on arrival. Even though these vans are synonymous with free spirited beach combers looking for the perfect swell we think they fit the whole wedding vibe quite nicely. Especially the uber cared for, polished and slick vans provided by Kombi Style. Below, owner (and very cautious driver Frank) answers our little questionnaire. If you would like to see the vans in person you can at the next One Fine Day fair  in Sydney at Sunstudios 14th and 15th September!

Timbermill + One Fine Day

As the wife of a carpenter I have a definite appreciation of the hard work and craftman ship that goes into pieces as stocked by Timbermill recycled furniture and homewares. There is definitely something beautiful about simple, natural wooden furniture and Timbermill does not disappoint!  We have a lot of couples ask us where they can source wooden tables to use at their weddings so it is with great excitement that we can introduce you to the team behind Timbermill, who provide such tables for event hire. This will be the first wedding fair for the team so we hope to make them feel super welcome!

Below,  the team behind Timbermill Tom & Sally answer our questionnaire. To get to know them better be sure to pop along and say hi at the Sydney One Fine Day 14th and 15th September

What is your definition of One Fine Day?A day spent with good food, good company, a pile of new magazines and numerous cups of tea.

What inspired you to start your business?
Timbermill started as a backyard hobby turned which has turned into a full time business after realising there was a gap in the market for affordable recycled timber furniture. The feeling when a client sees our products and loves them makes all the hard work worth it

What do you love about weddings?

I love pretty much every aspect of weddings, but if I had to narrow it down it would be wedding styling. It is amazing to watch how different couples work with the same product but can convey such different themes, and that how they style their wedding can be so reflective of their personalities.

She Designs + One Fine Day

The true talent of  a wedding stylist is to capture the essence of a couple and represent this with honesty on their big day. No one does this better than One Fine Day fav Sheree from She Designs. This lady must be one of the hardest working and most dedicated stylists going round. We don’t know what her magic tricks are, but every event Sheree and her team pull together is just so beautiful, genuine and deeply romantic, check out the amazing pics below as proof. A darling of the mag and blog worlds also, the She Designs team are featured in almost every wedding mag going round. Not to mention countless collaboration shoots with other fab vendors (many of whom are also One Fine Day alumni!). We don’t know how she does it, but we know we love what she does!!

What is your definition of one fine day?

A day where I can be surrounded by nature then spend the evening gazing at the stars.

- I think I need a holiday

What inspired you to start your business?

Friends wanted beautiful things to surround them on their wedding day so I did just that for them. Home is when you’re with the one  you love, so I use pieces that the couple would love to find in their home to create a special atmosphere. From there my little business grew and now I’ve worked on over 600 weddings!

What do you love about weddings?

I love to see the excitement and blossoming love between the couple, seeing the way they look at each other with what seems like an entire universe sparkling in their eyes.

I love to see a room transform and hear guests whisper to each other that the wedding is just so suited to the bride and groom.

Bridesmaids Only + One Fine Day

Today we are thrilled to introduce to you to Talia from the team at Bridesmaids Only. We have long been huge fans of this business due to their fabulous product range, passion for what they do and the fact that it is literally a one stop shop for all things bridesmaids. As soon as you walk into their show room you are immediately surrounded by stunning dresses in a huge range of colours and styles. From romantic and whimsical to formal and elegant, you will be able to spend hours of fun with your bridesmaids in their exclusive private room set up. We look forward to showcasing Bridesmaids Only in our fashion parade and you can also go straight from the parade and talk to them in person to view their beautiful range. They also have an awesome blog which is really informative and you can pick up some great tips on all things bridesmaids AND weddings.

Here we talk to Talia to find out a little about the team at Bridesmaids Only.

What is your definition of One Fine Day?
My perfect day would begin with great weather and a swim at Bondi Beach. After getting a fresh start to the day, I’d catch up with some friends for breakfast at one of the local cafes. We’d sit outside in the warm sun and I’d enjoy a few laughs and have my favourite staple, a fruit salad with yoghurt. Then I’d go for a walk with my husband and my big goofball of a dog, Teddy. Yep, that’s sounding pretty good right now.

What inspired you to start your business?
When I was planning my own wedding, I realized there was nowhere I could go that was specifically dedicated to bridesmaids’ dresses. When you already have so much to organize, it can be hard rallying everyone together to go trouping from shop to shop for the right outfit. I wanted it to be a stress-free and fun experience, so I decided to create Bridesmaids Only as a one-stop shop where bridal parties could relax in suites and take their time finding the right dress.

What do you love about weddings?
I’m a romantic so I love watching my friends make a public vow of commitment and love in front of their family and guests. But I also enjoy seeing how they’ve personalized their wedding from the theme to the dress and how gorgeous the bride and her maids look, of course.

Just quickly tell us your favourite:
Colour?
That’s hard. I love nudes, dusty pinks and mushrooms. They are flirty and feminine and look great with a lot of different skin tones.

Beverage?
My favourite has to be a peach bellini  – it’s sweet, bubbly and refreshing, what’s not to like?

Season?
Spring is definitely my favourite time of year, the flowers are blooming and the temperature is just right. Plus it’s one of my favourite wedding seasons.

City?
New York! I can never get enough of the Big Apple.

Three words to describe what you’ll be bringing to one fine day………….
Breathtakingly beautiful dresses.

The Establishment + One Fine Day

Imagine having access to the stock pile of amazing treasures amassed by some of the leading stylists in Australia? Too good to be true? Well you can count your lucky stars as today we introduce you to the exciting world of The Establishment Studios. As Paige mentions below in our questionnaire, the Establishment Studios started off as the  business of styling guru Glen Proebstal and creative manager and all round super star Rachael Hart. After 3 years working together and running prop.d they have  followed a natural progression into the world of event prop hire and styling. And we couldn’t be happier for all you creatively eclectic brides and grooms out there looking for something a little special on your big day. These guys have it all from glassware to soft furnishings, furniture to that elusive animal skull, all your styling needs will be met in this one stop shop.

Below are some fab images of The Establishment studios work + the answers to our questionnaire. We can’t wait to see what this creative studio brings to One Fine Day Melbourne we know it’s going to be awesome!!

What is your definition of one fine day?

For us it would begin at the crack of dawn in an unexplored city sourcing unusual and beautiful objects from a flea market for the studio’s ever expanding prop collection. This would be followed by a hearty breakfast and a day spent exploring shops, galleries and local landmarks for inspiration. The evening would commence with a long lazy dinner sampling local cuisine in a small intimate but lively restaurant with friends. Finishing the night listening to music and a spot of dancing would be the end to our definition of a fine day.

What inspired you to start your business?

The Establishment Studios is a prop and studio hire business created by Glen Proebstel and Rachael Hart. The prop side of things has an ever increasing collection of furniture and objects personally sourced by Glen over the years from his experience as a stylist. The studio side has a variety of one of a kind studio spaces available for photo shoots and small events. After being approached by a number of brides, wedding styling seemed to be a natural progression to the services already offered.

What do you love about weddings?

Creating beautiful and unique settings that have a personal and intimate feel for the lucky couple’s big day. It’s also exciting seeing an idea come into fruition and watching the reaction of the guests when they arrive.

Colour?

For weddings soft romantic colours but in the studio we’re always partial to a bit of blue – especially indigo.

Beverage?

Champagne

Season?

Autumn
